Celebrate Flag Day in Washington, DC style!
In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14 and commemorates the adoption of the American Flag.
Here in Washington D.C. it makes no sense to celebrate American Flag Day because we don't even have a star on the US Flag. On June 14th 5-8pm we will celebrate our own Flag Day.
Here in D.C. we have our own flag, with an iconic design originating from George Washington's family crest. Right now, the DC Council is considering legislation to make it official policy of the District government to create a DC flag that includes the phrase "No Taxation Without Representation," that will be flown on Flag Day.
Come celebrate DC Flag Day in Dupont Circle! Wear your DC Flag tees, show off your DC Flag tattoos, bring your DC Flags to wave, bring a friend and bring your love for DC!
